(Chesterfield, Mich.) - Shirish Pareek, Founder, President & Chief Executive, Hydraulex Global, was reappointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker to serve on the secretary's Manufacturing Council for the 2015-2016 charter term. Comprised of 30 private sector leaders, the Council advises the Commerce secretary on policies to strengthen the manufacturing economy.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to continue to serve on the Manufacturing Council, “ said Shirish Pareek. “It is an exciting time to be part of the manufacturing renaissance in the United States. At Hydraulex Global we are pleased to play a role in this growth and the building of skills in American workers.”
Selected for their expertise and industry perspectives, the Manufacturing Council membership reflects a balanced cross-section of U.S. manufacturing sectors, including entities from various geographic locations and businesses of varying size. The Secretary of Commerce serves as the chair of the Council, and the Secretaries of Labor, Energy, and Treasury serve as ex officio members to ensure better collaboration on issues the Council addresses. The Council and its sub-committees work to ensure regular communication between government and the manufacturing sector and provide a forum for discussing and proposing solutions to industry-related problems.
This is Pareek’s second term on the Manufacturing Council, during his first term he was involved in skills development of the American workforce and improving public perception of manufacturing.
“Manufacturing plays a major role in driving innovation, creating high paying jobs for our youth and in building a strong American middle class. I look forward to continuing to work with the Secretary of Commerce helping the Department serve the White House,” Pareek concludes.
